Event 1: Max Raw Deadlift
3 attempts ‘powerlifting style’.
All attempts must be in 2.5kg increments. Deadlift bar and calibrated plates. Conventional deadlift stance only. All lifting straps are allowed. All belts (maximum of 1 hard belt and 1 underbelt) and sleeves (1 garment per joint) are allowed. All clear and white chalk allowed. All neoprene products allowed. Wrist wraps allowed. Not listed = not allowed.
Event 2: Sandbag Loading Medley
4 sandbags ascending in weight, loaded over or on to a platform from 10m out in 60 seconds, women’s weights 70/80/90/100KG to 44”, men’s weights 110/120/130/140KG to 48”. Athlete starts ‘hands off’ the bag, on the whistle athlete picks up the lightest sandbag and carries it in whichever way they like 10m and then loads it, before returning to get the next lightest sandbag and do the same. There are 4 sandbags, increasing in weight. Each bag loaded is split timed, athletes finishing in the quickest time wins. There are no distances for bags not completed. All belts (maximum of 1 hard belt and 1 underbelt) and sleeves (1 garment per joint) are allowed. All clear and white chalk allowed. All neoprene products allowed. Wrist wraps allowed. Not listed = not allowed.
Event 3: Log and Axle Ladder
4 implements increasing in weight each implement, athletes will bring each implement from the floor to overhead before moving on to the next, heavier implement. At any point, an athlete can stop and rep out the implement they are on for the remainder of the 75 seconds. Women’s weights Log 60KG, Axle 70KG, Log 80KG, Axle 90KG, Men’s weights Log 100KG, Axle 120KG, Log 140KG, Axle 160KG. While a rep at the heavier weight will trump any amount at a lower weight, should you move on to the next weight and fail it, you are not allowed to go back down. All belts (maximum of 1 hard belt and 1 underbelt) and sleeves (1 garment per joint) are allowed. All clear and white chalk allowed. All neoprene products allowed. Wrist wraps allowed. Event 4 TBC: Conan’s Wheel for Distance
Max Distance Carry in 60 seconds. Max distance in 60 seconds with no drops, if you drop you are out. The implement can not be resting on your belt. All belts (maximum of 1 hard belt and 1 underbelt) and sleeves (1 garment per joint) are allowed. All clear and white chalk allowed. All neoprene products allowed. Wrist wraps allowed. Not listed = not allowed.
Hang Tough Event
The Old School WSM style Dead Hang (unfortunately without the pool). Athlete starts in contact with the bar but with their weight supported. On the whistle, athlete will hang from the bar with arms completely straight for as long as possible. Time stops when the athlete loses their grip on the bar. All belts (maximum of 1 hard belt and 1 underbelt) and sleeves (1 garment per joint) are allowed. All clear and white chalk allowed. All neoprene products allowed. Wrist wraps allowed. Not listed = not allowed.
Event 6: Everything But A Stone to Shoulder
Athletes will shoulder a series of Rubber Atlas and Cerberus Sandballs, and Sandbags increasing in weight or difficulty. Women’s implements (subject to change/ testing) 70KG Rubber Atlas, 80KG Sandball, 90KG Sandbag”, 80KG Rubber Atlas, 90KG Sandball, 100KG Sandbag. Men’s implements (subject to change/ testing) 100KG Rubber Atlas, 120KG Sandball, 140KG Sandbag, 110KG Rubber Atlas, 130KG Sandball, 150KG Sandbag” *note all weights/ implements may change subject to testing, Factory Weights are in the process of making heavier Rubber Atlas Stones, whether they will be ready on time or not we are unsure at the current time.*
